AcCEL Schools is seeking a passionate 3rd Grade Teacher for Sheffield Academy in Sheffield, Ohio. Join our mission to deliver an exceptional, student-focused education in a dynamic school environment where academics meet athletic and life skills development.

About the Opportunity

This 3rd Grade Teacher will play a pivotal role in fostering an engaging, socio-emotionally supportive classroom that inspires lifelong learning. The role involves:

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver daily lesson plans, adapting them as needed for student progress
  • Implement differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs
  • Track and report student academic and social-emotional growth meticulously
  • Lead a classroom rooted in research-based best practices and inclusive pedagogy
  • Manage student behaviour with empathy and consistency
  • Create a collaborative learning environment that builds community and motivation
  • Align instruction with school-approved curricula, ensuring cultural responsiveness
  • Incorporate school-wide expectations and maintain consistent classroom norms
  • Partner with families to communicate student progress and support their growth
  • Mentor students in digital literacy, integrating technology into daily lessons
  • Contribute to non-instructional activities, mentoring events, or enrichment programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues in teaching teams and staff development

About You

We’re looking for a teacher who can thrive in an open, coaching-focused environment with curriculum expertise and a proven talent for connecting with all students. Must-have qualifications:

Requirements

  • Active Ohio teaching license (valid for 3rd Grade or related content)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary (EC–8), Early Childhood, or related field
  • High comfort level with structured feedback (e.g., professional coaching, observations, progress tracking).
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal—key for parent partnerships and teamwork
  • Competency in handling confidential student/family information with professionalism
  • Ability to supervise students across multi-age settings (classroom, playground, cafeteria) with safety as top priority
  • Willingness to meet state and federal background requirements
  • Previous experience in an urban educational setting

Preferred

  • Ability to blend academic instruction with co-curricular success
  • Familiarity with next-gen blended learning models or early literacy/STEM initiatives

  • Base Salary Range: $41,000 – $50,500 (Adjustments for geography, education level, and experience may apply).
