The Role
This position presents a fantastic opportunity for a 3rd line engineer eager to join a well-established technical department. The responsibilities span every aspect of internal IT systems, encompassing desktop and server support, as well as hardware replacement. For those aiming to launch their IT career or advance their expertise, this role offers the chance to work alongside a knowledgeable and welcoming team of engineers. The Day Job
- Ticketing Systems: Experience logging, managing, and resolving incidents in IT Service Management (ITSM) tools
- Software & Hardware: Troubleshooting Microsoft 365 (Office, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams), Active Directory basics (password resets, user creation), and printer/peripheral support.
- Support the configuration and installation of hardware within offices and datacentres
- Working with junior engineers on projects and support requests, and training on such projects.
- Performing upgrades and updates to existing hardware and software platforms
- Management of internal and hosted software platforms such as Azure/365
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex and high priority incidents
- Monitor and manage IT systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and uptime, working with suppliers where required
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on support activities and project delivery
- Create and maintain technical documentation, solutions, and knowledge bases for IT staff and end users
- Mentor and upskill members of the IT team, promoting best practice and technical consistency

We’d Like to Speak to You If
You possess at least three years of experience in IT support, confidently handling 1st to 3rd line enquiries. Your enthusiasm for technology is evident through your practical expertise with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, as well as laptop and Dell/HP server hardware. You’re adept at managing Azure and 365 environments and have a solid grasp of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
Strong time management enables you to balance multiple workloads, whether independently or collaboratively within a team. You’ve played a pivotal role in software and hardware deployment projects—either as a direct manager or as a key contributor. Your in-depth understanding of Microsoft Azure services is complemented by hands-on experience in a cloud-first Microsoft 365 setting. Furthermore, you’ve successfully led service teams, consistently delivering high-quality support to end users.

We’ll Love You If
- Experience of VMware ESXi or similar hypervisor’s
- Hands on firewall and network switching experience (NAT rules / VLANS)
- Basic Linux use and management
- Any scripting skills (Python, C, PHP)
- Experience within datacentre environments
- Familiarity with SolarWinds, VMware, databases such as MSSQL/Postgres/MySQL/Maria
