About The Role

The 3rd Line Security Specialist will provide lead technical support and great customer experience on complex security issues and projects – being connected and clear with customer representatives or vendors and directing other support staff where appropriate, during an exciting time within the business.

Working into Bespoke Operations, onsite in an air gapped secure customer facility alongside other BT personnel and 3rd party engineers, you will be committed to reducing KPIs and SLAs to below customer expectations, ensuring that the customer and its service comes first.

The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain and hold Government Security Clearance to SC UK Eyes Only Level. You may also be required to go through Government Security Clearance to DV Level in the future.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert for a wide range of technologies & security products.
  • Detect, respond and resolve complex security incidents, problems and changes within the operational environment.
  • Provide 3rd line support, responsible for the high priority incident while resolving within the agreed SLA.
  • Be the technology SME for specialised products and services.
  • Be the operational SPOC for our design or customer contract teams.
  • Providing RCA’s and contributing to PIR’s as and when required.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Proven experience of working within both Network Engineering and Security Operations Specialist roles.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience and ability to work directly onsite with customers and their complex network solutions.
  • Proven experience of Cisco Firewalls, Checkpoint Firewalls/IPS, F5 Load Balancing, Cisco WSA / ESA / ISE, Ivanti Pulse VPN, Switches and Routers.
  • Industry recognised certifications or relevant experience.
  • Excellent experience of managing multiple incidents as a lead, making the right decision to resolve within agreed SLAs.
  • Able to liaise with designers and other parts of the organisation to fault/problem find.
  • Ability to lead teleconferences to troubleshoot major and/or complicated security incidents and issues.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Exposure to ServiceNow reporting and dashboarding.
  • Experience of Fortinet Firewalls and NetScout.

Working Pattern

Fully on-site role with no home working. You will form an integral part of our 24x7 team providing security in-life technical support, that will including shift working – 2 days 2 nights 4 off – 7-7.
