5 axis CNC Setter / Programmer - Days - Mon to Fri - occasional Sat

Location: Southam, Warwickshire
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £41,600 – £43,680 per year basis depending on experience, realistic earnings of £46,000 - £52,000 per year with bonus and overtime.

RM Design & Engineering Ltd is a growing design and engineering company specialising in high-quality tooling, jigs and fixtures for a wide range of industries.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced CNC Setter / Programmer to join our production team.

The Role
This is not a repetitive production-machining position. You will program, set and operate our large-format 5-axis CMS machines, manufacturing one-off and low-volume tooling for automotive, motorsport, composites and vacuum forming projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set and operate large modern 5-axis CMS CNC machines, every job is unique
  • Manufacture varied tooling, composite, automotive and motorsport projects
  • Create and optimise CNC programs using CAM software, freedom to plan machining strategies
  • Use Autodesk PowerMill, with training available for candidates experienced in other CAM systems
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
  • Monitor machining operations and maintain quality standards
  • Direct input into manufacturing decisions
  • Occasionally support other production activities when required

Candidate must-have Requirements:

  • Proven CNC milling programming and setting experience
  • Experience in CAM programming
  • Ability to work confidently from CAD models and drawings
  • Practical understanding of tooling, cutters and machining strategies

Candidate desirable Requirements:

  • 5-axis experience
  • Use of PowerMill software
  • Use of CMS machinery
  • Model board, aluminium, composites or tooling experience

  • £41,600 - £46,680 per year, depending on experience
  • Realistic earning £46,000 - £52,000 per year with bonus and overtime
  • Overtime paid at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate
