Senior Research & Impact Officer
Location: Greenwich Campus
Salary: £32,080 to £37,694 plus £5,476 London weighting per annum
Contract Type: Fixed Term
About the Role
On 1 August 2026, the University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will form the London and South-East (LASE) University Group. By joining us, you will work as part of the University of Greenwich while contributing to broader strategic goals of the LASE group. Together, we aim to deliver outstanding education, impactful research, and meaningful regional/global impact.
Greenwich Business School requires an experienced Senior Research & Impact Officer to join its Faculty Research Support Team. This position supports multiple strategic priorities, including:
- Preparations for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF)
- Development of an emerging Knowledge Exchange Hub
- Operation of a newly established Research Lab
Key Responsibilities
Working closely with:
- The Faculty Research Support Manager
- Associate Dean (Research and Knowledge Exchange)
- Academic colleagues
- Professional services teams across the University
The role enforces the following functions:
- REF Readiness & Evidence Collection – Coordinate efforts in preparing for the REF.
- Knowledge Exchange & Partnerships – Facilitate activities and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Research Lab Initiatives – Organise events, workshops, and lab operations.
- Impact & Engagement Support – Assist in synthesising research impact and public engagement efforts.
- Reporting & Research Intelligence – Compile reports, analyse trends, and contribute to evidence-based decision-making.
- Process & Policy Development – Support the creation of systems aligned with Greenwich Business School’s research ambitions.

Requirements

Experience & Skills:
- Strong organisational and multi-priority management skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) for engaging stakeholders internally and externally.
- Demonstrable track record in research, knowledge exchange, innovation, or project coordination within higher education or complex organisations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic environments.

- Proactive mindset to identify and leverage opportunities for research and impact.
- An approachable and inclusive demeanour for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with higher education research ecosystems is highly advantageous.
