9th–12th Grade Social Studies Teacher

Cornerstone Academy, Westerville, Ohio | ACCEL Schools

ACCEL Schools is seeking a dynamic and dedicated 9th-12th Grade Social Studies Teacher to bring passion, energy, and expertise to Cornerstone Academy in Westerville, Ohio. In this role, you will contribute to a thriving environment where all students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging differentiated lesson plans, adjusting as needed throughout the school year
  • Implement research-backed instructional strategies to support student success, including:
    • Culturally responsive teaching
    • Data-informed instruction
    • Mobile-friendly curricula reflecting diverse learning needs
  • Manage student behavior effectively while fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous classroom culture
  • Track and report student progress in alignment with Ohio state standards
  • Integrate technology tools to enhance learning experiences
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, mentoring programs, and professional development
  • Serve as an advocate for students by maintaining open lines of communication with families
  • Participate in non-instructional school activities as assigned

About You

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio teaching license in Social Studies (or eligibility with license pending)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Prior teaching experience in secondary education, preferably with graca-focused reflection (e.g., observation debriefs, action plans)
  • Strong commitment to collaborative planning and data-driven instruction
  • Ability to balance autonomy with structured guidance in a结果-orientated environment
  • Comfort managing a classroom of diverse students in urban/suburban settings
  • Effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Experience addressing social-emotional learning alongside academic rigor
  • Willingness to pass federal and state background checks
  • Experience or openness to career-technical, bilingual, or multicultural curricula (a plus)
