Based at Manchester City Football Academy, this part-time (18.75hrs per week) fixed-term role supports the academic development of players across Manchester City Women’s Professional Development Phase. You will plan, teach and assess A-Level learning in Science, Psychology or Economics, helping young players balance their education with the demands of an elite football environment and supporting them to progress towards their target grades.
Who We Are
Manchester City Women is a team driven by ambition, belief and a desire to keep pushing the game forward. Founded in 1988 and relaunched in 2014, we have grown into a consistent force in the women’s game, competing at the highest level in the UK and Europe. Progress, performance and pride sit at the heart of everything we do. With Mancunian roots and a global outlook, we are shaped by our Fans and driven by a long-term vision, from developing future talent to supporting the communities we call home. Together, we are building what comes next, the City way.
Within the Academy Education team, we support players to develop academically while progressing through the Club’s football pathway. The team works closely with players, parents, schools, colleges and internal colleagues to create a learning environment where young people can stay on track, achieve their goals and feel supported on and off the pitch.
The Role
As A-Level Tutor, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing learning for players based within the Professional Development Phase, with a particular focus on A-Level provision. The role will support players studying Science, specifically Chemistry or Biology, Psychology or Economics, helping them access high-quality teaching that fits around their football commitments.
You will create and deliver programmes of study, produce learning materials, monitor progress and provide clear feedback that helps players work towards their target grades. Alongside direct teaching, you will contribute to education administration, including progress reporting, school and college liaison, report gathering and support for players on hybrid and part-time training models.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
