ABA Billing Specialist / Insurance Coordinator (US based – EST hours)
Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented ABA Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) billing and insurance processes, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment. This role requires someone who understands the complexities of insurance authorizations, claims management, and revenue cycle operations while maintaining a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and exceptional support for our clients and team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of ABA billing, including claim submission, payment posting, claim follow-up, and denial resolution.
- Verify insurance benefits and eligibility for new and existing clients.
- Obtain, manage, and track insurance authorizations to ensure uninterrupted services.
- Communicate directly with insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and payment issues.
- Monitor accounts receivable and proactively follow up on outstanding claims and balances.
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation in accordance with payer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams to ensure accurate billing and operational efficiency.
- Stay current on insurance regulations, payer requirements, and ABA industry best practices.
- Assist with process improvements and support other operational needs as the organization grows.

Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in ABA billing, medical billing, healthcare revenue cycle management, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicaid, authorizations, claims processing, and reimbursement procedures.
- Experience working with ABA therapy providers or behavioral health organizations is preferred.
- Proficiency with billing platforms, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and follow-through abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
