Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and adhere to all safe working practices.
  • Perform maintenance, greasing, and cleaning work on deck and in accommodation areas.
  • Operate cranes for loading/unloading operations (if qualified or under supervision).
  • Assist with fish transport-related tasks, ensuring the welfare of live cargo during loading, transit, and unloading.
  • Support mooring operations at ports as directed by senior officers.
  • Carry out navigational watches as a lookout or helmsman.
  • Undertake security duties as instructed by the Ship Security Officer (SSO).
  • Perform additional tasks, as required, to ensure the safe operation of the vessel and cargo.

Requirements:

  • AB certificate of proficiency
  • Nav watch rating certificate
  • Efficient deck hand course
  • Up-to-date STCW certificates.
  • Current ENG1 medical certificate.
  • A commitment to maintaining high safety standards and attention to detail, particularly when handling live cargo.
  • Experience in similar roles or familiarity with live fish transport is advantageous but not essential.
