City St George’s is seeking an enthusiastic educator to take on the role of Academic Lead for MBBS5 Year 1. This is a replacement post, This role would be suitable for a Basic Scientist or Clinician who will have overarching responsibility for co-ordinating and quality assuring the teaching of Year 1 of the MBBS5 programme and ensuring that it is delivered effectively. You will be based in the Division of Medical Education within the Department of Medicine, with exciting opportunities to be involved in the development of the MBBS curriculum.

Your new roles responsibilities will include:
- Coordinate MBBS5 teaching with the needs of MBBS4
- Work with the Director of Curriculum Development to ensure the curriculum content is appropriate
- Work with the administrative team to ensure timetables and support information are accurate and produced in a timely fashion
- Work with module leads to ensure curriculum and delivery are quality assured
- Chair regular meetings to review medical student feedback
- Work with module leads and teaching teams to develop and improve teaching in every module
- Co-ordinate the virtual learning environment (VLE) and learning resources to support the MBBS5 programme
- Attend and report to the MBBS Course Committee and other relevant committees, such as the Medical Assessment Committee
- Review Mitigating Circumstances applications and provide remedial input for students as appropriate
To be successful in your application you will have academic or clinical academic experience of undergraduate Medical or Biomedical education, a strong understanding of curriculum design and quality assurance, and an interest in academic leadership within the MBBS programme.
