Academic Mentor | Ealing | September 2026 Start

Are you a high-achieving graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree and aspirations of pursuing a career in teaching?

A highly regarded secondary school in Ealing is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Academic Mentor to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain valuable school-based experience before undertaking teacher training.

The Academic Mentor role is particularly well suited to graduates with previous tutoring or mentoring experience who are passionate about education and eager to make a meaningful impact on pupil attainment and progress up to GCSE level.

Academic Mentor Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions.
  • Support students who require additional help in core subjects, including English and Mathematics.
  • Help pupils develop effective revision techniques and independent study skills.
  • Assist with coursework, homework, and exam preparation.
  • Monitor student progress and identify areas where further support is required.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to raise attainment and engagement across the school.

Academic Mentor Requirements

  • A minimum 2:1 degree from a recognised university.
  • A strong academic background, ideally in a core subject.
  • Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or educational experience is desirable.
  • Confident, professional, and reliable in a school setting.
  • Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
  • Considering a long-term career in education or teacher training.
