Role Description
The Academic Mentor at Vantedge is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting ambitious learners pursuing careers in Investment Banking, Private Equity, and other front-office financial sectors. In this role, you will guide students through core financial concepts, facilitate technical training, and provide the structured mentorship necessary for early-career success.

Role Overview
- Commitment: 10-15 hours/week (Flexible)
- Location: 100% Remote
- Type: Voluntary/ Unpaid Position (Designed for students)
- Cohort Training: Host and facilitate weekly training sessions and small-group discussions for Vantedge’s inaugural student cohort.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Guidance: Guide students through core finance concepts and clarify technical materials across M&A, DCM, ECM, and Equity Research.
- Cohort Training: Host and facilitate weekly training sessions and small-group discussions for Vantedge’s inaugural student cohort.
- Virtual Mentorship: Conduct regular virtual mentoring sessions to answer questions, recommend learning resources, and strengthen students' analytical, quantitative, and professional skills.
- Feedback & Assessment: Review student assignments and project work, providing structured, actionable feedback to accelerate their learning.
- Curriculum Collaboration: Partner with the internal education team to refine curriculum content, identify student skill gaps, and optimize learning materials.
- Career Preparation: Help mentees prepare for highly competitive interview processes and early-career opportunities in high finance.
- Culture Building: Maintain a supportive, inclusive environment that encourages independent thinking, accountability, and long-term professional growth.

Requirements
- Academic Expertise: Current PhD/Masters candidates, active academic researchers, or university professors specializing in finance, economics, econometrics, business, or related quantitative fields.
- Core Technical Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of corporate finance principles, valuation methodologies, financial analysis, investment banking, and private equity.
- Passion for Mentorship: A genuine commitment to fostering student learning, driving academic curiosity, and empowering the next generation of finance professionals.
- Communication Skills: Ability to break down complex, rigorous theoretical concepts into clear, actionable insights for undergraduate students.
- Availability: Ability to commit to hosting weekly virtual training sessions and reviewing student work remotely.
- **A background in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline (Bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in a relevant program) is advantageous.
