Academy Coach – Part-Time Located at Staplewood Campus
Location & Hours
- Campus: Staplewood
- Hours: Part-time (18.75 hours per week)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Criminal Record Check: Enhanced DBS with Children’s Barred List requirement
What Is the Role?
We are seeking an Academy Coach to lead and manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of an age-specific coaching programme. Your responsibilities will include:
- Age-specific curriculum delivery
- Individual development plans
- Player assessment
- Interdisciplinary team reviews and planning
What Will You Be Doing?
You will:
- Lead & deliver age-specific coaching programmes, ensuring alignment with Academy methodology and club-wide game models
- Develop and review individual development plans, tailored to age-specific needs and in line with Player Profiles
- Own the player review process, leading interdisciplinary meetings and ensuring all Tactical Management Area (TMA) tasks are completed for your designated age group
- Produce detailed reports and maintain accurate records on individual/team progress—required by the Tactical Development Manager and Academy leadership
- Oversee an effective feedback & review system, working closely with participants and their families to support development
- Build strong relationships through clear communication with parents and key stakeholders
- Support player well-being, collaborating with the Player Care department to ensure holistic support (both on and off the pitch)
- Attend Academy games regularly, potentially leading or supporting coaching across various age groups
- Contribute to cross-departmental projects, particularly in data and video analysis to aid player/staff feedback
- Support internal education initiatives for staff, players, and parents, sharing resources through Academy platforms
- Assist with other duties, including supporting across different age groups within your phase or across the club

Is This You?
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with players and staff
- Proactive workload management combined with an innovative approach to elite talent development
- Deep football knowledge, excelling in technical and tactical understanding
- Essential qualifications & experience:
- UEFA B Licence (minimum requirement)
- FA Advanced Youth Award (or working towards it)
- Undergraduate degree (desirable) in sports coaching, sports science, performance analysis, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Academy or International Youth coaching (at relevant age groups)
- Experience with performance analysis or cross-departmental development in an Academy setting
- Strong background in individual player development and leadership of coaching phases/teams
- Track record of achieving elite talent development
