Academy Health and Wellbeing Physiologist

Location: Romford, West Essex (FW1 & County area) Department: Physiology Contract: Permanent Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Salary

Up to £29,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience


About the Role

Join Academy Health and Wellbeing Physiology, where you’ll make a meaningful impact in transforming healthcare in the UK. By integrating assessment, treatment, and prevention services, we provide holistic, comprehensive care that goes beyond traditional medical intervention.

This entry-level role offers a fulfilling opportunity within our dynamic Physiology department. You’ll help enhance clients’ health, fitness, and overall wellbeing through prevention and rehabilitation services.


Responsibilities

As an Academy Health and Wellbeing Physiologist, you will:

  • Join a multidisciplinary team, working alongside doctors, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Undertake a three-week in-house training course
  • Promote health and fitness through holistic health assessments and wellness strategies tailored to clients’ goals
  • Deliver health assessments to support personalised wellbeing plans
  • Support preventative care, alongside rehabilitation and recovery services
  • Provide caring and compassionate service, prioritising client needs above all
  • Participate in the academy’s award-winning 12-month preceptorship programme, designed to mentor and develop you during your first year

Travel Requirement

This role is mobile, requiring you to travel within the region of your base site. As such, a flexible approach to site visits is essential.


Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of a lower-second class (2:2) undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science or a recognised equivalent qualification
  • Core knowledge in:
    • Human physiology
    • Exercise science and its applications
    • Biochemistry
    • Anatomy and biomechanics
    • Psychology and nutrition
    • Critical thinking skills to apply these areas effectively in practice
