Academy Host Family
Location: Sale, Greater Manchester or surrounding area
At Manchester United, we believe that excellence on the pitch starts with excellence off the pitch. Behind every successful Academy player is a network of people who provide care, encouragement, and stability. Our Host Family programme plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming environment where talented young players can thrive both personally and academically while pursuing their football ambitions.
We are looking for caring host families in the Sale area, Greater Manchester, or surrounding areas to provide a home-from-home for Academy players aged 14–19 who attend Ashton-on-Mersey School or Manchester Grammar School and train at our Carrington Training Complex.
The Role
As a Manchester United Academy Host Family, you will provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment for young players living away from their families. Your role extends beyond accommodation – you will become an important part of a player's support network, helping them settle into daily life, maintain healthy routines, and flourish during an important stage of their development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
