Job Description

TLJ Group Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Access Control Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality installations and maintaining strong professional standards whilst working on projects across the UK.

This role involves working away from home during the week, with accommodation and travel arranged where required. Candidates must be flexible, as projects may require Sunday travel to ensure site attendance and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault-finding of access control systems.
  • Installation of battery-operated and hard-wired locking solutions.
  • Working with card readers, door controllers, electric locking devices and associated hardware.
  • Testing and commissioning systems to ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Completing site documentation and reporting work carried out.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, site managers and project teams.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
  • Representing TLJ Group professionally on customer sites throughout the UK.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within the access control industry.
  • Strong knowledge of access control systems, door hardware and associated technologies.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and installation specifications.
  • Experience with fault diagnosis and system commissioning.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to work away from home during the week and travel nationwide.
  • Flexibility to travel on Sundays when project requirements dictate.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with integrated security systems.
  • Knowledge of IP networking and system connectivity.
  • CSCS, ECS or other relevant industry qualifications.
  • Experience working within student accommodation, commercial or residential environments.
