Access Officer

Access Officer Location: Plymouth, Devon

About Babcock

At Babcock, we’re shaping a safe and secure world, together. Join us in one of the UK’s most important defence sites—Devonport Royal Dockyard—as an Access Officer, playing a critical role in serving clients like the Royal Navy, MOD, and defense contractors.

The Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for employees, visitors, and contractors, acting as a vital gateway to a nationally significant defence facility. This is your opportunity to develop your career in security, access management, and customer service while supporting a UK-wide naval hub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused entry and exit service.
  • Process access passes, permits, and applications following Ministry of Defence (MOD) contractual requirements.
  • Manage site access for staff, vehicles, contractors, and VIP guests.
  • Review administrative processes to improve efficiency and service delivery standards.
  • Support office and site security teams, ensuring seamless operations and excess of customer experience standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
