Job Description Summary
#LI-Hybrid
Lead a large Access Strategy team, setting the vision, strategy, and priorities required to achieve sustainable patient access and business objectives across the portfolio. Through strong people leadership, talent development, and capability building, create a high-performing team that drives integrated access strategies for pipeline and in-market assets. Ensure NHS, healthcare system, and policy insights are translated into actionable access plans, while guiding cross-functional collaboration and external stakeholder engagement to optimise patient access across public and private healthcare settings throughout the product lifecycle.
Location
This is a UK/London office-based role with hybrid working which means 12 days per month in the office. The role requires the candidate to live in the UK with easy access to the London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the vision, priorities, and operating model for the TA Access organization.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team to achieve business objectives and access ambitions.
- Build sustainable organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and workforce planning.
- Foster an inclusive, accountable, and high-performing team culture aligned to Novartis Values and Leadership Expectations.
- Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans for associates.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of resources and capabilities to support portfolio priorities.
- Lead organizational change initiatives and continuous improvement across the function.
- Role model enterprise leadership and foster collaboration across functions, therapeutic areas, and geographies.

What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a similar role in another pharmaceutical company is ideal.
- Leadership/direct people management experience is essential.
- Strong understanding of NHS structures, healthcare systems, patient access pathways, and policy environments.
- Experience developing and implementing access strategies across both NHS and private healthcare settings.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, including assessment of healthcare system, customer, and access dynamics.
- Ability to identify access opportunities and barriers and translate insights into actionable strategies that improve patient access.
- University degree in life sciences, economics, or related field. Advanced degree is an advantage.
Leadership & Functional Skills
- Strategic thinking with ability to simplify complexity.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership without authority.
- Experience working with global/regional teams and managing interdependencies.
- Ability to translate market insights into strategic recommendations.
- Outstanding communication skills (value story, payer narrative, negotiation preparation).
- Learning agility and ability to work under ambiguity and changing external conditions.
