Design Assistant – Dune London

About the Role
Join our dynamic design team as a Design Assistant and launch your career in fashion! This ideal role for ambitious graduates offers hands-on experience in women’s accessories design—handbags, lifestyle products, and small leather goods. You’ll work closely with the Design Manager to support the creation of trend-led, commercially viable collections, reinforcing our beloved Dune London brand identity.
About You
We’re seeking a creative and detail-oriented individual with:
- A highly creative mindset and sharp attention to detail
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator)
- Strong understanding of fashion trends and the accessories market
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to grow
This is a fantastic opportunity for fashion or accessories design graduates (or equivalent) to develop expertise under a leading fashion brand.
Responsibilities
Your role will include:
- Trend Research: Analyse fashion and purchase trends, including social media and influencer insights, to inform innovative design concepts.
- Concept Development: Assist in groundbreaking designs and hardware trims for seasonal collections.
- Sketching & Technical Drawing: Execute hand sketches and CAD designs in Adobe Illustrator.
- Material & Colour Selection: Source materials, trims, hardware, and finishes that align with Dune London’s aesthetic.
- Sample Development Support: Prepare design specs and help transition prototypes into final products.
- Design Documentation: Maintain tech packs and specifications and collaborate with suppliers on sampling timelines.
- Presentation Preparation: Build mood boards and design presentations for internal reviews and key meetings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with footwear teams and business units to align seasonal projects.
- Brand Alignment: Demonstrate passion for fashion and accessories, with deep knowledge of the Dune London customer and brand values.

Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Degree in Fashion or Accessories Design (or portfolio-proven equivalent)
- Strong skills in sketching, CAD, and technical drawing
- Understanding of product development processes, including sampling/prototype workflow
- Commercial awareness with an eye for fashion trends and social media
- Knowledge of materials, trims, hardware, and leather goods manufacturing
- High attention to detail for in-collaborating tech packs and maintaining quality standards
- Confident communicator with organisational and multi-deadline management skills
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and AI trend analysis tools
