Role Overview
Thirteen Group is seeking Accommodation Support Workers to join our talent pool for our Offender Services team in Northumbria, covering 6 Local Authorities and HMP Northumberland.
Help people rebuild their lives after prison. Every year, hundreds of individuals leave custody without a stable place to live. As an Accommodation Support Worker, you’ll play a critical role in:
- Securing safe housing
- Reducing the risk of reoffending
- Building a more positive future
This role is currently contract-based (ending July 2027) but has potential to be made permanent. The role blends community and in-prison work, requiring resilience, self-starting initiative, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
**Please note: Roles are subject to National Security Vetting and Prison Clearance.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload and provide clear, practical advice, support, and guidance to help individuals secure and maintain safe housing.
- Conduct needs assessments, detect early risks, and connect people with appropriate specialist support.
- Collaborate closely with the National Probation Service to plan releases and secure suitable accommodation.
- Deliver one-to-one and group sessions to build life skills, confidence, and resilience.
- Maintain accurate digital records and meet agreed performance targets set by the Ministry of Justice.
About You

Experience and Passion:
- Familiarity with the criminal justice system and confidence in supporting ** visokally complex clients**.
- Strong ability to use Microsoft Office apps and manage digital caseload systems.
- Demonstrated bed communication skills, staying calm under pressure, and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Local knowledge of housing options, legislation, and support services within Northumbria.

- Experience delivering one-to-one and group support sessions and motivating others.
- Practical experience in helping individuals transition into stable housing.

Logistics:
- Full UK driving licence required (with access to a vehicle for travel across the region).
