Partner Development Manager – Embedded Payment Partnerships (EPP) (Hybrid, UK & Ireland Focus)

At U.S. Bank, we’re committed to empowering our customers, businesses, and communities to thrive by making smarter financial decisions. As a wholly owned subsidiary of U.S. Bank, Elavon drives innovation in payment solutions, helping over 1.5 million customers worldwide achieve their financial goals through secure, industry-leading card payment processing powered by cutting-edge technology.

Elavon is a top 5 acquirer in Europe, with a strong presence across the UK, Ireland, the USA, Germany, Norway, and beyond. As a leader in embedded payment technologies, we seek a Partner Development Manager to expand our Embedded Payment Partnerships (EPP) strategy, driving revenue growth for Elavon, U.S. Bank, and our strategic partners in the UK & Ireland Markets.

About Elavon

Elavon delivers an end-to-end payment processing solution delivering security, cost-effectiveness, and unrivalled customer service—backed by AI, global connectivity, and bespoke support for businesses of all sizes.

We are classified as a wholly owned subsidiary of US Bancorp, one of the five largest financial holding companies in the United States, and as such, we are continually growing our portfolio to meet the evolving needs of modern commerce.

About the Embedded Payment Partnerships (EPP) Team & Role

This role sits within Elavon’s global EPP team, responsible for forming strategic partnerships with technology platforms, independent software vendors (ISV’s), gateways, and developer communities. Our goal is to embed Elavon’s full suite of payment solutions seamlessly across the broader merchant landscape—whether e-commerce, in-store, or episodic transactions across multiple continents.

We’re in a pivotal phase of growth and consolidation under the "One Elavon" proposition, integrating our diverse solution sets for global scalability. Your work will directly accelerate revenue for Elavon, US Bank, and our partners, enabling our merchant base to thrive in today’s omnichannel environment.

This role does not require deep technical mastery—instead, you’ll collaborate closely with technical experts to drive commercial and relational growth, focusing on:

  • Aligning strategic partnerships with market opportunities
  • Strengthening end-to-end revenue streams through accurate forecasting, competitive pricing, and solution differentiation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership Growth
    • Develop high-impact account plans for tier-1 global technology platforms while prioritising UK & Ireland expansion, alongside global EPP colleagues.
    • Drive acquisitions and negotiations to build revenue-generating ecosystems for merchants.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Cross-Sales & Commercial Complexity

    • Lead high-stakes negotiations, balancing the needs of Elavon, partners, and merchants to achieve sustainable, scalable deals.
    • Spearhead multi-channel revenue opportunities within each strategic partnership and market.
  • Market Intelligence & Alignment

    • Stay agile within dynamic payment markets, monitoring competitors, internal product roadmaps, and industry shifts to identify and prioritise opportunities.
    • Consistently exceed annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets with a hybrid approach (qualified leads + strategic development).

Core Requirements:

  • Proven experience with achievable revenue targets in new business acquisition, relationship management, or partner ecosystem growth.

  • Business acumen for contract negotiation (preferably spanning acquiring, prepayment, or multi-merchant solutions).
  • 10+ years in payments—ideally covering acquiring, gateways, POS, though a fintech/commerce non-expert’s commercial insight is strong value.
  • Experience launching partnerships aligned with product and marketing teams vs. approaching innovators independently.
  • Commercial sense of payment ecosystems, understanding the roles of ISVs, technology platforms, and developers.

Person Specification

A successful candidate will showcase: ✔ A highly motivated, self-directed attitude toward growth. ✔ Excellent communication and negotiation skills to align business strategy with all stakeholders. ✔ An ability to diagnose gaps in partnership health and map solutions (both revenue & usability). ✔ Strong time management, ability to operate across UK and globally aligned objectives. ✔ A credentials programme (degree or equivalent) or proven track record in commercially motivated advising (e.g., keynotes).
