Account Director
We’re looking for someone ready to lead client relationships with confidence, curiosity, and commercial awareness.
At true, our best work happens when we’re embedded in our clients’ world: understanding their challenges, acting as a trusted partner, and helping solve real business problems.
Role Overview
As an Account Director, you’ll lead day-to-day client relationships and account activity across a portfolio of clients, helping shape account roadmaps, identify growth opportunities, and ensure clients see real value from our work by aligning to real business outcomes, while working closely with senior leadership on major commercial decisions and longer-term planning.
Why this role exists
This role is key to helping us deepen client partnerships, bring more strategic direction to our accounts, and support sustainable growth. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and delivery leads, escalating where needed.
What you’ll be doing
Client leadership & partnership
- Lead the day-to-day client–agency relationship across your accounts, building trusted relationships with key stakeholders and senior contacts where relevant
- Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business, priorities, pressures, and success measures, and use that context to help teams understand the value and outcome behind the work
- Keep client communication clear, consistent, and proactive
Strategy & account direction
- Develop account plans and contribute to roadmaps aligned to client goals, turning priorities and agreed next steps into clear plans with input from senior leadership where appropriate
- Interrogate and challenge briefs where needed, translating client needs into clear internal direction so teams understand the outcome the work needs to achieve
- Support account reviews by tracking progress, client satisfaction, opportunities, and commercial performance
Commercial management
- Manage account performance against agreed revenue forecasts and targets
- Contribute to commercial discussions on renewals, scopes, and contracts, escalating key decisions to senior leadership where appropriate

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
