Overview
The Position
We are looking for an Account Director with strong social media and digital communications expertise to join our London team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover), starting August 2026.
This is a mid-level role, responsible for leading client relationships, contributing to digital strategies, and ensuring high-quality delivery across accounts. You will play a key role in developing social-first and digitally-led campaigns, advising clients and internal teams on best practice, innovation, and performance.
You will also support team development, contribute to new business opportunities, and help maintain a positive and inclusive team culture.
This role supports a variety of clients across different sectors, so a generalist focus is required.
Responsibilities
- Act as a day-to-day client contact, leading the delivery of strategic digital communications programmes
- Develop and oversee social-first campaigns, ensuring alignment across channels
- Provide expert guidance on social media strategy, content development, platform trends, and performance metrics
- Identify client opportunities and recommend creative, insight-led solutions
- Lead, support, and mentor account team members, fostering growth and collaboration
- Oversee account performance against KPIs, ensuring measurable results
- Manage account budgets and team resource allocation
- Contribute to new business development, including proposals and pitches
- Support internal initiatives such as training, knowledge sharing, and team development

Requirements
Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong expertise in social media strategy and execution
- Proven ability to lead social and digital campaigns, including:
- Campaign strategy
- Content development
- Channel planning
- Performance analysis
- Strong understanding of the organic social landscape, including emerging platforms and trends
- Experience managing client relationships and leading account teams
- Confidence in advising clients on social media best practices, innovation, and measurement
- Experience managing budgets and delivering work within scope
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience in influencer marketing is a plus
