The Role
Account Director – Healthcare & Pharma (Secondary Intelligence)
As an Account Director, you will be leading teams working on multiple research and intelligence projects across a variety of healthcare and pharma clients, with a focus on secondary methodologies.
Ideal Candidate Profile
This role suits someone with:
- Strong experience in social listening, media monitoring, and landscape analysis
- Confidence in turning complex intelligence into clear strategic recommendations
- Close collaboration between Edelman teams and clients, ensuring research and intelligence align with communication challenges and business priorities
- Healthcare and pharma experience (with flexibility to work across other industries/sectors)
- Digital fluency, AI-driven mindset, and curiosity about how emerging tools can enhance intelligence delivery

Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of secondary projects across key healthcare and pharma clients, ensuring work is:
- Strategic
- Insightful
- Commercially sound
- Manage client relationships daily by:
- Leading meetings
- Understanding client needs
- Identifying account growth opportunities
- Shape intelligence approaches for:
- Pitches
- Proposals
- Live projects
- Selecting methodologies, tools, and outputs
- Translate social, media, and landscape intelligence into clear, compelling client recommendations
- Oversee:
- Project delivery
- Budgets
- Timelines
- Contributions to account profitability and high-quality execution
- Support and develop junior team members by:
- Sharing best practices
- Introducing new AI-enabled tools
- Spreading knowledge across the team
- Flex across other sectors and Edelman teams to provide broader intelligence support
