About This Role

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Leadership & Relationship Management

As a senior leader in the team, you will act as the trusted strategic advisor to clients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop senior client relationships, acting as a strategic partner to build long-term partnerships
  • Identify opportunities to grow accounts and strengthen client partnerships
  • Understand and proactively address client priorities with counsel and strategic recommendations
  • Lead client meetings, workshops, and presentations with confidence and authority
  • Ensure consistently high-quality delivery across all programmes

2. Strategic Counsel & Programme Delivery

This role requires shaping and overseeing integrated communications programmes that deliver measurable value. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop communication strategies aligned with client objectives and market needs
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of programmes across multiple accounts
  • Manage risks, budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful execution
  • Collaborate across Madano and AVENIR GLOBAL to deliver integrated solutions
  • Utilise industry insights and emerging trends to enhance client programmes

3. Business Development

Capitalise on opportunities and play an active role in growing the Healthcare Practice and its client base. Key tasks include:

  • Identify and develop opportunities for account growth
  • Contribute to pitches, proposals, and new business activities
  • Build and maintain a network within the healthcare sector
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative solutions for new and existing clients
  • Represent Madano at industry events and professional networks

4. Leadership, Coaching & Team Development

Nurture a dynamic and supportive culture. Your role involves:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop account teams and medical writers
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture
  • Offer regular coaching, feedback, and career development support
  • Inspire teams to deliver exceptional client work and exceed expectations

5. Commercial & Financial Leadership

Drive account profitability and support the sustainable growth of the practice. Responsibilities include:

  • Manage account budgets, forecasting, and resource planning
  • Monitor financial performance, revenue, and profitability
  • Support accurate invoicing and commercial reporting
  • Identify and implement efficiencies to improve account performance

6. Quality & Operational Excellence

Promote quality across all work for consistency, accuracy, and innovation. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain high quality standards across all client deliverables
  • Ensure robust review and quality assurance processes are adhered to
  • Act on client feedback to continually strengthen delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement in account and project management processes

What You’ll Bring

  • Significant experience in healthcare or medical communications, with a strong track record in client leadership
  • Commercial awareness and experience identifying opportunities for growth
  • Ability to develop strategic communications programmes and translate complex science into compelling narratives
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making
  • A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
