Open Position: Account Director (Client Service Supervisor) (UK)
About the Role:
The Client Service Supervisor (Account Director) is a trusted partner to both clients and internal teams, acting as the day-to-day lead across assigned accounts. They build strong client relationships, ensuring seamless delivery of projects while maintaining a clear understanding of the broader brand strategy.
Working closely with creative, strategy, medical, and project management teams, the Client Service Supervisor ensures consistency, quality, and strategic alignment across all communications. They are the primary point of contact for project delivery, confidently leading client meetings, managing timelines and budgets, and supporting compliance review processes in line with UK/US pharmaceutical industry regulations.
As they grow within the role, the Client Service Supervisor (Account Director) develops stronger strategic capabilities, contributing to brand planning, identifying opportunities for innovation, and helping shape creative solutions that deliver meaningful impact for clients. Depending on account size and structure, the role may include line management and mentoring responsibilities for junior Client Services team members.

- Serve as the day-to-day client lead, building trusted relationships and ensuring excellent account delivery.
- Work independently with clients and cross-functional agency teams.
- Balance strategic thinking with tactical project management and oversight.
- Ensure all work aligns with brand strategy, customer insights, and business objectives.
- Drive high-quality execution across multiple projects and work streams.
- Lead internal workshops, brainstorms, and ideation sessions.
- Synthesize ideas and recommendations into clear presentations and actionable plans.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance agency output.
- Present confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Develop management, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Support the financial management of accounts, including forecasting, budget tracking, and profitability.
- Understand client priorities and resource requirements across projects.
- Lead discussions regarding project scope, timelines, and budget amendments.
- Coordinate with medical and compliance teams to ensure materials meet relevant regulatory requirements, including the requirements of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice where applicable.
- Support brand planning and annual account development activities.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in Client Services, Account Management, or Account Leadership within a healthcare communications, healthcare advertising, or pharmaceutical agency environment.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of the UK healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape, including NHS stakeholder audiences and healthcare professional communications.
- Experience working within regulated healthcare environments and familiarity with the ABPI Code of Practice and material approval processes.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
- Commercially aware, with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and project profitability.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
