Account Director – Paid Social & PPC

Location: London (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office) Industry: Retail, Automotive, Technology Role: Senior, client-facing position within an independent digital agency

About the Role

We’re partnered with a leading independent digital agency in London specialising in high-performance paid media strategies for Retail, Automotive, and Tech sectors. They are seeking an experienced Account Director (Paid Social & PPC) to:

  • Take strategic ownership of key client relationships
  • Drive best-in-class performance across multi-channel campaigns
  • Lead and inspire—this is a role for someone who thrives on strategic thinking, leadership, and measurable impact

Key Responsibilities

Client & Strategic Leadership

  • Shape the strategic direction for a diversified portfolio of Retail, Auto, and Tech clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth targets
  • Oversee end-to-end Paid Social (Meta, TikTok, YouTube) and PPC (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads) campaigns across multi-channel environments

Account & Team Management

  • Act as senior client-facing contact, fostering long-term stakeholder relationships and accelerating business growth
  • Guide and mentor Account Managers and Executives, ensuring high-quality execution, QA, and performance optimisation
  • Develop and present regular quarterly/annual performance reviews, roadmaps, and innovation plans

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with Creative, Data, CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation), and Strategy teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact media solutions
  • Identify scaling opportunities, efficiencies, and channel expansions via data analysis and testing frameworks

Strategic & Innovation Focus

  • Lead pitch preparation, proposals, and forecasting for both new and existing clients
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, platform evolution, and emerging technologies, applying innovation to drive account success

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 5+ years in Paid Social and PPC within an agency environment
    • Experience in senior client management required
  • Strong background on Retail, Automotive, or Tech brands (bonus: mix of multiple sectors)
  • Proven ability to develop data-driven strategic roadmaps delivering measurable business impact
  • Confident leading cross-channel strategies, with deep knowledge in:
    • Attribution models, data-driven creative testing, and funnel management
  • Exceptional communicator, skilled in influencing senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and developing teams
  • Familiar with managing budgets from £100k to £1m+ per month
  • Strong analytical mindset with commercial acumen
