Account Director / Senior Account Manager
Full-time | Office-based | Cambridge
About the Role
At Honest Ideas, we’re a boutique, independent creative agency based on Cambridge’s Quayside. We deliver strategic and creative marketing solutions—from brand strategy, advertising, design, digital marketing, and websites—acting as an extension of our clients' teams while building lasting relationships.
Our client base (80% B2B) ranges from start-ups to international businesses. We’re looking for an Account Director or Senior Account Manager—someone who can bridge strategy and execution, manage projects, and nurture client relationships with the same passion we bring to our work.
This role offers real influence, meaningful projects, and the chance to shape an agency as it grows.
Responsibilities
Core Account Management
- Serve as the primary client contact, building trust and understanding their goals, challenges, and opportunities
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and strategy discussions with senior stakeholders
- Foster lasting client relationships through proactive collaboration and problem-solving
Project Leadership
- Oversee projects from briefing to delivery, ensuring they stay on time, budget, and scope
- Write clear, strategic briefs for creative teams
- Coordinate between clients, designers, developers, and external partners
- Keep stakeholders informed while maintaining organisation and calm under pressure
Strategic Thinking & Execution
- Develop marketing and brand strategies tailored to client needs
- Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and strategic recommendations
- Critical thinking: challenge briefs and push for better outcomes
- Assist clients in making data-driven marketing decisions

Creative Collaboration
- Brief and collaborate with designers, copywriters, and developers
- Review creative work before client sign-off
- Ensure every deliverable meets the original brief and business objectives
Digital Marketing Focus
- Manage WordPress websites, including content updates and minor customisations
- Coordinate with SEO, PPC, and web development partners
- Create and curate social media content (copy, design, scheduling)
- Monitor and report on digital marketing performance
Business Development
- Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities to grow client accounts
- Contribute to proposals and pitch presentations
- Play a role in acquiring new business
Requirements
Essential
- 5+ years’ experience in advertising, branding, or marketing agencies
- Proven track record in managing multiple client accounts
- Strong project management skills with a focus on timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Exceptional verbal/written communication, including presentation and negotiation skills
- Comfort building relationships with C-level executives and senior stakeholders
- Commercial acumen (budgets, ROI, KPIs)
- Hands-on experience with WordPress CMS or similar platforms
- Strategic mindset + meticulous attention to detail
- A people-first personality—collaborative, curious, and owning responsibility

Nice to Have
- Experience in B2B marketing or complex tech/enterprise sectors
- Design or creative industry background (bonus, but not essential)
- Agile or Scrum framework familiarity
