Account Engineer

Permanent Position ASAP Start Location: Coventry Industry: Automotive Sector

Are you an experienced Account Engineer, Account Manager, Project Engineer, or Customer-Focused Engineer seeking a dynamic challenge within the automotive sector?

Do you thrive in a fast-paced OEM environment by managing customer relationships, coordinating complex engineering programmes, and driving projects from concept through to production? If so, this exciting opportunity is for you.


About the Role

You will play a critical role in delivering high-performance engineering programmes for automotive OEM customers, ensuring seamless collaboration from initial concept to full production.


Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing long-term relationships with key OEM accounts on a day-to-day basis
  • Supporting engineering programmes across the full project lifecycle, from:
    • Initial concept
    • Through to production release
  • Acting as the primary interface between customers and internal departments to align on programme goals and requirements
  • Tracking and reporting on:
    • Programme progress
    • Delivery schedules
    • Customer expectations at every development stage
  • Contributing to commercial activities, including:
    • Providing quotations
    • Responding to RFQs (Requests for Quotation)
    • Conducting ongoing account performance reviews
  • Attending and participating in:
    • Customer meetings
    • Development reviews
    • Testing activities, as required

Requirements

Experience

  • Proven experience in one or more of the following roles:
    • Engineering
    • Project Engineering
    • Account Management
    • Programme Management
  • Strong preference for candidates with a background in the automotive or motorsport sectors

Technical & Commercial Knowledge

  • Solid commercial awareness, including:
    • Understanding of programme timing, cost control, and customer expectations
  • Proficiency in managing engineering deliverables and translating technical requirements into actionable plans

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
