ABOUT MINT PAYMENTS
Mint Payments is a travel-specialist payments business, built by travel people for the travel industry. We help retail travel agents, OTAs, TMCs, DMCs and tour operators simplify operations, safeguard revenue and accelerate settlements, with card acceptance and revenue protection solutions designed around real travel workflows rather than adapted from generic retail payments. Mint is trusted by over 2,500 travel businesses worldwide and partners with leading travel networks and trade bodies, including The Travel Network Group, Travel Trust Association, Worldchoice and ABTA. Part of a global group headquartered in Sydney, the UK business is a high-growth, entrepreneurial team based in central London, backed by an established platform and a strong reputation in the travel payments space.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Account Executive is a new-business sales role responsible for winning card acceptance customers across the UK travel market — retail travel agents, OTAs, tour operators, DMCs and smaller TMCs. You will build and work your own pipeline, respond to and convert leads introduced through Mint's partnership network, and manage each opportunity through a structured sales cycle to close.
This is a high-activity, target-driven role suited to a sales professional who is equally comfortable prospecting from scratch and following a disciplined, methodology-led sales process. You will work closely with the Managing Director and the wider UK sales team, sharing best practice while owning your own number.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Self-generate a qualified pipeline of new business opportunities across UK travel-specialist merchants, through proactive outbound prospecting (calling, email, LinkedIn, networking and industry events).
- Provide an excellent standard of service to leads referred by Mint's partnership network, responding promptly and professionally to convert warm introductions into qualified pipeline.
- Qualify prospects into the pipeline using a consistent methodology (e.g. SPICED or MEDDPICC), accurately capturing pain, impact, decision process and next steps in HubSpot.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle from discovery and demo through proposal, negotiation and close, tailoring the pitch to each merchant's payment flows and travel-sector context.
- Consistently deliver against monthly and quarterly new business targets for merchant acquisition and transaction volume (TTV).
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date forecast on a commit and upside basis, and report this reliably to the Managing Director.
- Support the preparation and delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews for key accounts and partners, working alongside senior colleagues.
- Keep CRM records (HubSpot) accurate and current — deal stages, activities, contacts and next steps — to support clean pipeline reporting.
- Work closely with Onboarding, Risk/Compliance and Customer Success to ensure a smooth, well-briefed handover of every closed deal.
- Build and maintain strong product knowledge of Mint's card acceptance and revenue protection solutions, and a working understanding of the UK travel payments landscape (e.g. ATOL, Section 75, merchant risk).
- Feed market and competitor insight back to the Managing Director and wider team to help shape go-to-market approach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
