Consumer PR Specialist

We are looking for someone who already has some experience working in PR and wants to build their career specifically in consumer.

We’re seeking a trusted team player who can be relied upon across your accounts and the wider consumer team. You will play an active role in team meetings and on client calls, support managing client requests and be solutions-focused.

You’ll be responsible for crafting media pitches, selling in stories and keeping both the team and clients up to date on new developments within PR, competitor activity, and wider industry trends.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Proactively manage client requests, fielding to the team as needed
  • Attend client and team meetings, taking detailed notes to circulate to attendees and updating on areas you are working on
  • Take the lead on media monitoring, identifying relevant coverage for clients and knowing what to flag

Team Collaboration

  • Deliver work to deadline, flagging issues and finding solutions with your wider team when necessary
  • Share information and ideas with others to help the team achieve its goals
  • Help troubleshoot and offer constructive feedback
  • Maintain a visible presence in the team, with strong communication both virtually and in-person
  • Be an active member of the consumer team sharing social trends, media stories and brand campaigns with the wider group

Project & Time Management

  • Prioritise your workload and communicate proactively if there are any concerns with hitting deadlines
  • Have a clear understanding of how long tasks should take and manage your time accordingly

Commercial Acumen

  • Assist with managing account finances
  • Support financial processes including PO raising, supplier setup, chasing invoices, and running supplier cost trackers
  • Complete timesheets daily and understand how your time impacts the business and budgets
  • Source and maintain relationships with vendors and third-party suppliers

Business Growth

  • Carry out research for new business proposals and pitches
  • Keep abreast of industry media to spot potential new business opportunities

What We Are Looking For

  • A trusted, proactive team player with a visible presence and a positive attitude
  • Passionate about consumer PR
  • A passion for media relations, with eagerness to evolve your understanding of the media landscape and further develop your pitching skills and ability to sell in stories
  • A strong writer with experience crafting materials such as media pitches, briefing documents, etc. that fit with brand messaging
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring work is of a high quality
  • Able to problem-solve and actively find solutions
  • Comfortable managing multiple workstreams at once, working in a fast-paced environment under pressure with professionalism
  • Curious and resourceful - you proactively seek feedback and look for opportunities to learn and grow
  • Experience working on consumer campaigns with existing media contacts (preferred but not required)
  • A team member who contributes to an inclusive culture and role models inclusive behaviours
