Account Executive | New Business / Full-Cycle Sales | Fast-Scaling Payments Platform
Salary: £55,000–£70,000 depending on experience
Reward structure: no traditional commission; instead, sales staff move onto stock options (after six months), designed to pay out roughly double a standard 3-year bonus scheme if targets are consistently hit
Location: London, hybrid (two to three days a week in the office during the three-month probation period, reducing to one day a week after)
This payments and point-of-sale platform processes £185 million a year across festivals, stadiums, arenas, food halls and theatres, and the plan is to hit £1 billion within three years. It has grown three times year on year without ever taking venture money, backed instead by angel investors and, more recently, a strategic private equity partner. Around 40 people in total, based in London, with the whole commercial team, sales, marketing, ops and finance, sitting together in one office while product and engineering stretch across the UK, US and India.
You would be the fourth Account Executive on a growing new business sales team, each running their own vertical or territory: one covers stadiums and arenas, another festivals and events globally, a third cultural venues. This seat is likely to pick up food halls in the UK to start, with a genuine opportunity to build a US or European territory from scratch as the business expands into those markets. You would own the full sales cycle end to end, from building your own pipeline through to a signed order form, then handing over cleanly to the operations team. You will report directly to the CEO.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why Join
The commercial argument here is straightforward: this is a platform built specifically for multi-vendor venues, sites where several businesses trade under one roof and split revenue between them, and most standard POS and payments providers cannot handle that complexity. That is the wedge, and it is working, taking the business from £185 million processed today toward a £1 billion target within three years.
Pay is structured to reward that growth properly. Instead of a traditional bonus scheme, the business puts sales staff on stock options once they have proved themselves in role, discussed after six months, designed so a rep who would typically clear around £210k in bonuses over three years could be looking at closer to £400k through equity if they hit target consistently. It has stayed in control of its own destiny throughout, angel-backed rather than venture-backed, and is growing on its own terms.
This is a new business role without a safety net: no inherited accounts, no easy renewals to lean on, just quota and pipeline you build yourself. If that is the kind of sales role you thrive in, it is worth a proper look.
