Company Description

Uproot Technologies provides integrated EOR/IOR services, global sourcing, supply chain optimization, and end-to-end freight and logistics management to help businesses navigate international trade and streamline operations. The company combines these services with comprehensive engineering capabilities, including system design and development, firmware and software engineering, and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions
  • Record sales invoices, supplier invoices, expenses, payments, and receipts
  • Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate customer and supplier ledgers
  • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Prepare accounting records and supporting schedules for quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist with VAT reconciliations and ensure records are ready for submission
  • Prepare financial records, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for annual accounts
  • Work closely with external accounting firms for statutory accounts and tax filings
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide requested documents and explanations
  • Maintain organised digital accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Assist management with cash-flow reports, aged debtor reports, and other financial information
  • Support compliance with UK accounting, VAT, and record-keeping requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Good understanding of UK bookkeeping and VAT processes
  • Experience preparing accounting records for quarterly VAT returns and year-end accounts
  • Experience working with external accountants or auditors
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable

  • AAT qualification or progress towards ACCA, CIMA, or a similar qualification
  • Experience working in an international, technology, logistics, or professional-services business
  • Experience handling transactions across multiple currencies or business entities
