Account Handler

Commercial Account Handler

The main purpose of the role is to focus on our Commercial Insurance book of business, primarily servicing SME-sized clients, working on renewals and maximising business growth opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Understand client business operations, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance, providing tailored solutions.
  • Act as a first point of contact, offering and presenting insurance policies and risk management solutions to secure renewals and acquire new business.
  • Ensure regular communication with the team and manager, addressing concerns and offering solutions to improve team performance.
  • Negotiate competitive terms with providers to align with client requirements.
  • Handle invoicing of premiums, effective credit control, and maintaining compliance with local procedures and external regulations (e.g., FCA).
  • Manage client relationships, presenting confident and enthusiastic propositions to support the renewal process.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in accounting, insurance and client systems.
  • Stay updated on market trends and industry regulations.

About You

To excel in this role, you should:

  • Have a strong background in commercial insurance, with hands-on experience in client management.
  • Possess relevant qualifications (e.g. Cert CII) or be actively working towards them.
  • Deliver excellent communication and customer service, with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Exhibit strong networking and relationship-building skills, alongside a proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrate drive, ambition, and a genuine passion for developing within the insurance industry.
  • Have previous experience of working with insurers and clients in a similar role.
  • Be adept at multi-tasking, balancing client management with system and administrative tasks.
  • Ideally, have experience with Acturis systems.
