Account Handler

Account Handler – Insurance | Malvern

About Balens

Established in 1950, Balens, part of PIB Group, have specialised in insurance across the Health, Well-being, Fitness and Beauty sectors since the 1990s. Their insurance solutions cater to individuals, businesses, organisations, charities, and the not-for-profit sector.

We seek an Account Handler to join their team in Malvern. While insurance account handling experience is ideal, Balens welcomes applicants with a strong interest in insurance, a desire to learn, and a willingness to train on the job.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day client contact, providing a professional and responsive service.
  • Handle enquiries via telephone, email, and post, offering clear advice within authority limits and escalating complex queries as needed.
  • Administer new business, renewals, and mid-term policy adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
  • Obtain and verify quotations from insurers, then prepare and issue documentation aligning with Balens’ and insurer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client, policy, and financial data in broking/CRM systems.

Requirements

  • Preferred: Experience in insurance broking, underwriting, or financial services customer support.
  • Essential:
    • Strong client service skills, with the ability to establish rapport and handle queries calmly and professionally.
    • High accuracy and attention to detail in processing data and documentation.
    • Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and deadline management under pressure.
    • Proficient in policy administration/CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
