Account Handler - SME
Client Services Officer – SME Insurance (Leicester / Maidstone / Amersham / Doncaster)

Our SME team is a Centre of Excellence within Clear Group. We deliver high-volume, high-quality insurance solutions for small and medium-sized businesses across the UK, trusted to get it right. You’ll be part of a connected team that works closely, shares knowledge, and holds high standards.
The role is hybrid, split between 2 office working days from one of our Leicester, Amersham, Maidstone, or Doncaster offices.
The Role
This is a 360° client role.
- You own the relationship.
- You manage the detail.
- You ensure everything lands accurately and on time.

Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- End-to-end portfolio management for SME clients
- Ownership of client relationships and delivery—you are the primary point of contact.
- Day-to-day tasks include:
- Managing client relationships and acting as the main point of contact
- Overseeing renewals and mid-term adjustments to ensure accurate and continuous cover
- Processing new business, endorsements, and cancellations accurately and on time
- Placing and managing insurance cover across multiple insurer platforms
- Reviewing documentation, resolving issues, and ensuring quick and precise corrections
- Liaising with insurers to secure terms and navigate complex cases
- Maintaining accurate, compliant, and up-to-date client records
- Collaborating with the wider team to maintain consistent delivery standards

Requirements & Qualities
Essential Experience & Skills
- Experience in SME or commercial account handling (or transferable insurance broking experience)
- Strong understanding of SME, package, or commercial combined products
- Proficient in insurer e-trade platforms and client management systems
- Clear awareness of FCA compliance requirements
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads without sacrificing accuracy
