Account Manager - Golf & Sports Partnerships

About the Role
The Account Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, fostering long-term business relationships, and maintaining client satisfaction across a portfolio of golf course partners. Relationship management will be at the core of this role.
Responsibilities will include managing key partner clients, growing accounts through upselling products, driving revenue, and ensuring retention via adoption of best practices and effective use of our products and services.
This role sits in the Digital Platforms & Ventures business segment.
Key Responsibilities
The Account Manager will be part of the Belfast-based Account Management Team and will:
- Develop a deep understanding of VERSANT’s Account Management philosophy, market trends, and customer needs.
- Conduct regular check-ins and meetings with clients to:
- Review performance and feedback
- Identify opportunities for growth
- Develop advanced product knowledge and industry expertise to provide consultative guidance, helping customers maximise adoption of our services. Key tasks include:
- Upselling new products
- Securing and optimising tee time offerings for attractive inventory across our platforms
- Leverage technical tools, platforms, and data to:
- Develop data-informed proposals
- Ensure clients derive maximum value from our services
- Collaborate with senior team members to:
- Understand strategic goals
- Implement strategies to strengthen partnerships with golf course partners
- Manage client relationships across UK & Ireland regions, including:
- Handling inbound support requests
- Proactively engaging partners via outbound communication
- Ensuring strong performance and high satisfaction levels
- Monitor high-value accounts with on-site visits when appropriate, acting as a brand ambassador for VERSANT’s products and services.
- Deeply understand and apply dynamic pricing strategies within the golf industry, including:
- Educating partners on best practices
- Implementing successful strategies to enhance tee time offerings
- Focus on client retention by:
- Supporting contract renewals
- Ensuring high client satisfaction
- Review account performance regularly to:
- Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
- Prioritise the long-term success of clients, ensuring they are represented positively online (e.g., our platforms).
- Drive results-focused performance, exceeding individual and departmental metrics through:
- Accountability
- High work ethic
- Revenue and retention strategies
- Specific focus on higher-value UK/Ireland counties
- Maintain an accurate daily Salesforce record of all activities.
- Contribute to a positive company culture by:
- Collaborating internally with local and international teams
- Reflecting core values and best work behaviours as part of Golf as a Great Place to Work.

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- 1+ years of experience in Sales or Account Management in related industries (e.g., e-commerce, technology), with responsibility for:
- Retaining clients
- Growing assigned accounts
- Strong business acumen, including:
- Sound decision-making
- Proficiency in negotiation
- Managing complex relationships
- Experience analysing, collating, and presenting data/demos to support client engagement and proposals.
- Fluency with sales management technologies, such as:
- Sales automation (e.g., SalesForce, HubSpot)
- Marketing automation
- Results-driven mindset with a proven track record of achievement.
- Willingness to travel for work-related purposes.
Desirable Attributes
- Degree-level education in Business, Marketing, or IT.
- Familiarity or experience with the UK golf market.
- Experience aligning commercial relationships with strategic business growth targets.
