Account Manager – Medical Polymers

Location: Home-based with UK-wide travel

Drive Growth in the Medical Materials Market

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Manager to join a well-established international organisation operating within the medical polymer business.

This is a home-based, customer-facing role focused on developing and growing business within the UK medical manufacturing market. You'll work closely with customers, suppliers, and international colleagues to identify new opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and deliver innovative material solutions to the medical device industry.

The Role

As Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets across the UK medical market. You'll manage a portfolio of existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities within medical manufacturing and related industries.

Working closely with technical specialists and international colleagues, you'll provide commercially focused solutions that support customer innovation and long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a sales strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Build strong partnerships with medical manufacturers, OEMs, design houses, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Promote a broad portfolio of advanced materials and identify opportunities for new product introductions.
  • Work collaboratively with international teams to deliver market growth strategies.
  • Manage customer enquiries, quotations, and commercial opportunities through to completion.
  • Maintain profitability through effective pricing and margin management.
  • Ensure CRM systems and sales pipelines are accurately maintained.
  • Support customers with technical and commercial solutions throughout project lifecycles.
  • Attend industry exhibitions, conferences, and networking events to strengthen market presence and identify emerging opportunities.

About You

We're looking for a commercially focused sales professional with experience in technical products and a passion for developing customer relationships.

You'll ideally have experience within one or more of the following sectors:

  • Medical devices
  • Polymers
  • Engineering plastics
  • Advanced materials
  • Healthcare manufacturing
  • Specialty chemicals or technical materials

You will also bring:

  • Proven success in technical sales, account management, or business development.
  • Strong understanding of materials used within medical manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development within regulated industries.
  • Confidence engaging with engineering, R&D, procurement, quality, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness including pricing, negotiation, and account growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently.
  • A degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK (approximately 40–60%).
