Account Manager
Location: Whitwick Hours: Full time (37.5 hrs), 08:30–17:00 Contract: Permanent Salary: £28,000–£32,000

If yes, this is your chance! Join Heidelberg Materials as an Account Manager to drive sales growth across our asphalt and aggregate product portfolio, collaborating with Field Sales Representatives and Sales Managers.
The Role
As an Account Manager, you will:
- Support sales performance through account management, customer engagement, and commercial decision-making.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure excellent service delivery while achieving sales targets and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of key customer accounts to meet sales targets and budgets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Work with Field Sales Representatives and Sales Managers to maximise sales opportunities.
- Handle customer enquiries and quotations within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain and update Area Contract Files.
- Process and manage cash sales transactions.
- Support credit management procedures.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends.
- Assist in sales budgeting and performance target creation.
- Produce accurate weekly performance reports for management.
- Support other sales areas as required.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Minimum good general education standard.
- Previous experience in:
- Account management,
- Sales, or
- Customer-facing commercial roles.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Commercial awareness and customer focus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and general computer systems.
- Ability to produce accurate and concise reports.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of asphalt and aggregate products.
- Salesnet knowledge.
- Awareness of:
- Operational procedures,
- Order processing,
- Competitor activity.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Training & Systems Experience (Essential)
Progress towards competence in:
- SAP,
- Cash sales procedures,
- Order processing,
- Basic product knowledge,
- Competition Act compliance,
- Glennigans,
- Powerplay.
Desirable:
- Telephone selling skills,
- Sales training experience.
