Account Manager

About Us The Fundamental Group started out as a media agency, specialising in clients within the Asset Management and Higher Education sectors. Our vision was to become a leading specialist, and we have achieved this through a combination of contemporary and innovative technologies. This includes our in-house proprietary performance marketing technologies and reporting platforms, in-house programmatic solutions, research team and most importantly our people, each with expert sector knowledge.

Over the past 20 years, we have grown into a marketing technology group which numbers over 170 people globally. With a strategic presence across the globe, our offices span key locations including London, Milan, Boston, Hong Kong and Sydney.

Within your role, you will be working on the following:

  • Plan and buy relevant media and present media proposals, including timings and cost breakdown.
  • Use analysis to drive decisions in a way that yields sustained, measurable results.
  • Maintain strong relationships with assigned clients.
  • Proactively communicate to provide project updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns.
  • Understand their goals, objectives, and challenges and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of client projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop project timelines, deliverables, and ensure on-time and within-budget completion.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Provide clients with accurate budget updates.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling additional services or expanding existing projects to drive revenue growth.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of your clients’ industry/segment, audience profiles, and competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with creative, media, and technology teams to ensure all aspects of client projects are executed effectively and seamlessly.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Lead by example, sharing industry knowledge and best practices.
  • Attending in person or online meetings with clients and publishers and sharing relevant opportunities with clients and internal teams.

About You:

  • Experience of working in a similar media buying / planning role.
  • Strong digital media experience particularly display, content marketing and social media.
  • An interest and passion in analysing your campaigns and pushing for the best outcome.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and good interpersonal skills: Persuasive and diplomatic.
  • Demonstrable ability to make sensible, intelligent decisions in difficult and deadline driven situations.
  • A passionate approach to tasks with a can-do attitude – committed to upholding professional standards while being flexible and self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to create outstanding media strategies.
  • The skills to handle multiple accounts and projects, ensuring client retention.
  • Experience of liaising with and presenting recommendations to clients; excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to recognize good media opportunities and the ability to develop new ideas/concepts.
  • An interest in financial news, business, economics or willingness to learn and stay up to date with these areas.
  • Fluent in spoken & written English. Any other languages are welcomed.
