Account Manager – Whitwick

Location: Whitwick, UK Contract: Permanent Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

The Role: Account Manager

This exciting opportunity is for a customer-focused sales professional who thrives in dynamic environments and loves fostering lasting relationships while identifying commercial opportunities. As an Account Manager, you’ll work closely with Field Sales Representatives and Sales Managers to drive sales growth across our asphalt and aggregate product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop key customer accounts to meet sales targets and budgets profitably
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Collaborate with Field Sales and Sales Managers to maximise sales opportunities
  • Handle customer enquiries and quotations within agreed deadlines
  • Maintain and update Area Contract Files
  • Process and manage cash sales transactions
  • Support credit management procedures to ensure compliance
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends
  • Assist in budget creation and performance target setting
  • Produce accurate weekly performance reports for management
  • Provide support across other sales functions when required
  • Ensure compliance with H&S policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates will have:

Essential Qualities & Experience

  • Good general education standard
  • Previous experience in account management, sales, or customer-facing commercial roles
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness and a customer-focused mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other core systems
  • Outstanding reporting and administrative abilities

Desirable Knowledge & Tech Proficiencies

Understanding of:

  • Asphalt and aggregate products
  • SalesNet and SAP Cash Sales
  • Operational and order processing procedures
  • Competition Act compliance

Experience with:

  • Glennigans Powerplay (a CRM tool)
  • Telephone selling
  • Sales training
