Account Manager
Role Purpose
The Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through a combination of new business development, strategic account management and digital-first commercial partnerships. An expectation will be that this role requires a minimum of 1 day a week conducting face to face meetings, plus attending shows and securing business through telephone and email.
Working across Bauer's specialist brands, with a primary focus on the Outdoor portfolio including Country Walking Magazine and Live For The Outdoors digital website, the role will focus on building strong client relationships, identifying new commercial opportunities and helping advertisers connect with highly engaged audiences through innovative multi-platform solutions spanning digital, social, video, newsletters, branded content and print.
Success in the role will come from proactively growing revenue, developing long-term partnerships and championing Bauer's transition towards digital and performance-led advertising solutions.
Key Responsibilites
New Business Development
Identify, prospect and convert new advertisers across key market sectors. Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through proactive outreach and networking. Develop creative, insight-led proposals that solve client challenges and deliver measurable outcomes. Consistently achieve new business revenue targets.
Account Growth & Relationship Management
Develop strong relationships with clients, agencies and key stakeholders. Act as a trusted commercial partner, understanding client objectives and recommending appropriate solutions. Grow existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling and multi-platform partnerships. Deliver excellent service levels to drive retention and long-term commercial value.
Driving Digital Growth
Lead commercial conversations around digital advertising, social media, video, newsletters, branded content, affiliate branded content and performance marketing solutions where appropriate. Support clients in transitioning from traditional advertising to integrated, audience-led campaigns. Use audience insights, campaign performance and market trends to inform recommendations Work collaboratively with editorial, commercial manager and content teams to develop innovative commercial opportunities.

Commercial Excellence
Deliver advertising revenue, yield and growth targets. Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline management and forecasting. Share market intelligence, customer feedback and category insights with the wider business. Contribute positively to team culture, collaboration and commercial success.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Capabilities
Meet clients face to face a minimum of 1 day a week to build relationships and grow revenue across print and digital. Achieve revenue, yield and share targets, supported by quarterly customer feedback. Stay informed on customer markets, industry trends and competitor activity. Understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly. Maintain structured planning, accurate admin and timely reporting.
Skills
Strong commercial focus with the ability to build trust and long-term relationships. Confident communicator who adapts style and presents persuasive, data-backed arguments. Able to analyse information, identify trends and provide practical solutions. Organised planner who sets priorities, prepares well and follows through.
Capabilities
Driven, resilient and calm under pressure; committed to meeting targets and standards. Creative and adaptable, responding positively to change and last-minute requests.
