Account Manager – Analytical Instrumentation
Sales Executive – Scientific & Laboratory Equipment (Remote + South East Travel)
An innovative, industry-leading laboratory equipment distributor is seeking an ambitious scientist-driven sales executive to drive revenue growth and customer engagement in the South East.
About the Role
Our client is a leading provider of analytical instruments in the UK, specialising in high-quality equipment such as:
- Sample preparation systems
- Elemental analysis instrumentation
This exciting opportunity is ideal for an ambitious scientist with a strong sales mindset, looking to leverage their technical expertise while building and maintaining customer relationships in key industries:
- Academic research
- Contract Research Organisations (CROs)
- Biotechnology
- Pharmaceutical laboratories
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Account Management
- Support customers in identifying and overcoming their key operational or analytical challenges.
- Provide deep technical advice to help select the most suitable products from our portfolio.
- Foster strong trust-based relationships with clients in existing accounts and new opportunities.
- Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and negotiations at customer sites.

Sales & Business Development
- Actively explore and secure new business within the specified target markets.
- Drive capital and consumables sales to meet revenue targets.
- Work remotely with ~60% travel (South East locations including Cambridge, Oxford, Ipswich, and beyond).
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
✔ A BSc (minimum) in Chemistry or a related scientific subject. ✔ UK work eligibility (no need for sponsorship). ✔ UK driving licence, with a commitment to frequent travel (daily commutes or short-distance visits). ✔ Highly desirable: Proven experience within scientific or technical sales, with a strong understanding of the sales process.
