Job Description

Location: Flexible/Remote - UK Wide

Job Purpose

The Senior Client Engagement Manager is responsible for generating, strengthening, and expanding Microchip Technology’s sales performance and strategic business relationships with key clients and channel partners across the United Kingdom. This role plays a critical part in identifying and driving major design-in opportunities, ensuring Microchip is positioned as a trusted long-term technology partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pre-qualify, manage, and close major projects with focus clients, proactively driving new and incremental business opportunities.
  • Lead and coordinate Microchip’s technical and commercial resources in support of key client projects to maximize sales growth and long-term revenue potential.
  • Work closely with Field Application Engineers, Business Units, and specialist functions within Microchip to deliver compelling Total System Solutions aligned to customer needs.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with Microchip’s authorized channel partners and their field teams in the UK, jointly identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Apply the Microchip Client Engagement Process to develop credibility with customers, offering meaningful insights into their business and linking these to relevant Microchip solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, opportunity, and project information within Microchip’s Salesforce-based CRM system.
  • Operate as an active member of the wider UK & EMEA sales and applications organization, participating in team meetings, reviews, and relevant internal or customer events.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • A BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
  • Proven track record of sales success in a design-in environment, with experience in market segments such as industrial, communications, computing, or medical.
  • Strong understanding of the semiconductor industry, with familiarity across areas such as microcontrollers, analogue, FPGA, power systems, and networking technologies considered advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the UK, with occasional travel within Europe and periodic travel to the USA for training or business requirements.
  • A proactive, positive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and continuously develop, combined with the drive to move the business forward.
