Account Manager for Data Centers

About the Role

Are you looking for a role where ambition meets opportunity? Hitachi Energy is now hiring an Account Manager for Data Centers in the United Kingdom (UK). At Hitachi Energy, growth across the UK region is gaining momentum, and the data center business is a key driver of this exciting journey.

As our UK Account Manager for Data Centers, you will:

  • Take the lead in shaping Hitachi Energy’s presence across UK markets.
  • Build powerful customer partnerships and unlock new opportunities in one of the most dynamic industries.
  • Drive measurable impact with true ownership of accounts.
  • Act as the account lead for the UK, responsible for driving growth and expanding Hitachi Energy’s footprint.

This is a pivotal role with clear accountability:

  • Deliver against budgetary targets.
  • Own the sales pipeline and execute disciplined strategies via structured account reviews and proactive opportunity management.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Cultivate long-standing, strategic partnerships with key clients, acting as the principal point of contact for both technical and commercial dialogues.
  • Develop comprehensive account strategies, sales plans, and player maps, ensuring continuous alignment and progress through periodic evaluations.
  • Gain deep insights into client’s strategic directions, key stakeholders, and operational workflows.
  • Proactively identify client needs and anticipate solutions aligned with long-term goals and investment roadmaps.
  • Develop early-stage sales opportunities, collaborating across cross-functional sales teams to focus on innovative solutions.
  • Lead Capture Teams and ‘Must Win’ initiatives, while effectively managing sales pipelines using local and global methodologies.
  • Support the Market Insights & Market Outlook (MIMO) process, including forecasting and long-term demand planning.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s commitment to safety and integrity with personal accountability, expecting frequent travel within the UK (~35%).

Your Background

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Technical, or a related field) + relevant sales, marketing, product management, or engineering experience.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.

Key Skills & Qualities:

  • Strong ability to build relationships, professional networks, and influence internal/external stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of the data center market, including experience working with data center customers and industry contacts.
  • Technical acumen to build customer confidence and support solution development.
  • Fluency in English (written & spoken), alongside exceptional communication skills for proposal/negotiation strategies.
  • Results-driven, with a qualité-noté commitment to quality and ability to tackle complex challenges.
  • Team-oriented leadership, strong prioritization, and experience in value-based and strategic sales.
  • Flexibility for domestic travel (~35%).
