Vacancy: Account Manager – DNOs
Location: Northern England & Scotland
Division: Siemens Smart Infrastructure – Electric & Automation (EA)
Join Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA) and play a leading role in supporting UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) as they modernise, reinforce, and decarbonise their distribution networks across Scotland and Northern England.
As part of Siemens Electrification & Automation business, you will be responsible for developing Siemens’ DNO focused distribution business, working closely with DNO asset managers, project teams, and framework delivery partners. You will promote our end to end portfolio, including SF₆ free switchgear, protection relays, digital substations, automation, and lifecycle services, aligned to DNO standards and investment plans.
Siemens is a long standing partner to UK DNOs, supporting major programmes such as asset replacement, network reinforcement, resilience, flexibility, and decarbonisation under the RIIO ED framework. We combine quality engineering, digital innovation, and sustainability, underpinned by a collaborative, growth mindset culture.
This is a site-independent role with regular travel across the North of the UK, engaging directly with DNO customers and their supply chain.

- Act as a trusted commercial and technical interface to UK DNOs, becoming a recognised “go to” contact for Siemens’ portfolio.
- Develop and manage the DNO opportunity pipeline, aligned to: asset replacement programmes, load related reinforcement, Net Zero and electrification initiatives & substation modernisation and digitalisation.
- Work closely with DNO framework partners, Independent Connection Providers (ICPs), and engineering, procurement contractors (ECPs) to position Siemens solutions early in project lifecycles.
- Coordinate internal Siemens teams (engineering, bid management, service, and management) to support timely, compliant, and competitive proposals
- Support the execution of Siemens’ DNO sales strategy, using market and regulatory intelligence (e.g. RIIO ED investment drivers)
- Maintain high standards of Salesforce CRM discipline, ensuring accurate forecasting, opportunity tracking, and customer data integrity
Your defining qualities
- Strong relationship building skills, with confidence engaging DNO engineers, project managers, procurement, and asset teams
- A clear sense of ownership and accountability for customer outcomes and long-term partnerships
- A growth mindset, with the ability to develop within a technically and commercially complex DNO environment
- A Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering is desirable, but not essential

- Experience working on DNO networks, substations, or operational sites
- Engineering experience in medium voltage distribution or power systems
