Account Manager

Gateshead | Permanent | Hybrid Working | £27,000 - £30,000 DOE + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Account Manager who enjoys building long-term customer relationships and developing existing accounts?

We're recruiting for a well-established global manufacturing and technology business with an outstanding reputation for investing in its people. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive commercial team where you'll inherit an established customer base and focus on growing existing relationships - no cold calling required.

Working closely with the wider sales team, you'll become a trusted advisor to your customers, identifying opportunities to increase account value while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

  • £27,000 - £30,000 DOE
  • Quarterly bonus + profit share scheme
  • 36-hour working week with flexible start/finish times (standard hours 8:20am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday and 1:30pm finish on a Friday!)

The Role

You'll manage a portfolio of existing customers, helping to retain and grow accounts through excellent relationship management and commercial awareness.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing existing customer accounts
  • Building long-term customer relationships and delivering regular account reviews
  • Identifying cross-sell, upsell and new product opportunities
  • Managing opportunities from enquiry through to quotation and completion
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, forecasts and pipeline activity
  • Preparing quotations and supporting tender opportunities
  • Working closely with technical, operations and customer support teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes

About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Client Relationship Management or Internal Sales
  • A track record of growing existing customer accounts
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Good commercial awareness and a proactive approach
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail

Experience working with technical or engineered products would be beneficial but isn't essential, as full product training will be provided.
