Account Manager – Global Benefits Management

About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Benefits Management (GBM) team at Mercer Marsh Benefits.

The successful candidate will be based in Bristol or London, working hybrid (3 days in the office). GBM empowers multinational organisations to manage their insured employee benefits globally more effectively. The Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) global GBM solution—delivering local broking renewals, global coordination, technology, governance, and consulting.


The Role: Account Manager

As an Account Manager, you will manage a portfolio of 4-6 clients, ensuring strategic and tactical goals for their regional or global benefits are met. This includes overseeing insured employee benefits, local renewals, and Mercer’s appointments in mandated locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Manage a portfolio of global client relationships, providing expert advice on insured employee benefits.
  • Operations & Coordination:
    • Oversee implementation and management of global GBM appointments.
    • Ensure high client satisfaction with aligned internal/external execution.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with client teams to influence delivery and keep commitments.
    • Act as the primary global contact for client deliverables.
  • Strategic Execution:
    • Support global benefit strategy, including harmonisation, minimum standards, and financing.
    • Ensure local osteoporosis systems adhere to global governance.
  • Market & Compliance Engagement:
    • Monitor global employee benefit trends and advise clients on market developments.
  • Revenue Growth & New Business:
    • Identify revenue opportunities and support new business development.

Requirements

Essential

  • 3-5 years of consulting, client management, or broking experience, ideally in large global organisations.
  • Experience in Insurance, Financial Services, or Employee Benefits, working with multinationals.
  • Proven client-facing mindset, with consulting, analytical, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, with discipline and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrated results orientation in high-performance environments.
  • Self-motivated, fast learner, able to work independently or collaboratively.

  • International benefits experience (e.g., pensions, risk benefits, medical).
  • Proven track record in new business development.
  • Fluency in another language.
