Account Manager – Global Benefits Management
Location: Bristol or London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
About the Role
Global Benefits Management (GBM) lets multinational organisations efficiently manage their insured employee benefits worldwide. Our Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) global GBM solution offers clients everything they need for local broking renewals, global coordination, technology, governance, and consulting.
As an Account Manager, you’ll lead a portfolio of 4-6 clients, ensuring alignment with their strategic goals while overseeing regional or global benefits. Your responsibilities include managing renewals, partnerships, and client satisfaction while aligning internal and external teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships and provide advice on global insured employee benefits strategy
- Oversee the implementation and management of GBM appointments, including local renewals and Mercer’s appointments in mandated locations
- Work closely with client teams to deliver commitments, fostering shared ownership and accountability
- Act as the global lead contact for clients, liaising with Senior Global Client Managers
- Support the execution of global benefit strategies, including:
- Benefit harmonisation
- Setting minimum standards
- Global benefit financing
- Coordinate local in-country teams, ensuring seamless specialist/broker engagement
- Monitor and report on global employee benefit programs and governance compliance
- Stay updated with international benefit trends and market developments, advising clients accordingly
- Proactively identify growth opportunities to expand client revenue and pursue new business developments

Requirements
Essential:
✅ Proven experience in consulting, client management, or broking—preferably in a global, high-complexity organisation ✅ Background in Insurance, Financial Services, or Employee Benefits, with experience working with multinational clients ✅ Client-centric mindset with relevant client-facing experience ✅ Ability to consult, analyse, and communicate on insured employee benefits ✅ Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail ✅ Experience managing multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, with a structured, prioritisation-driven approach ✅ Results-oriented, able to set high standards and thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment ✅ Self-starter with fast-learning ability; adaptable as an independent worker or collaborative team member
Preferred:
🔹 International benefits experience, including knowledge of pensions, risk benefits, and medical benefits 🔹 Proven track record in new business development 🔹 Fluency in additional languages

Hybrid Work Policy
Mercer embraces hybrid work flexibility, balancing remote flexibility with the benefits of in-office collaboration. All colleagues must work at least 3 days per week in the office/with clients. Office teams will agree on an "anchor day" for full-team in-person engagement.
