Job title: Account Manager
About CPS Account Management
Capita Public Service (CPS) partners with government to solve complex challenges and deliver better outcomes for citizens. Our Account Managers play a key role in building trusted client relationships, driving account growth, and ensuring long-term value for both our clients and our business. If you are commercially minded, relationship-driven, and motivated by delivering meaningful impact, we would love to hear from you.
Our Account Management function is central to how we retain, grow and evolve our client partnerships. We combine deep client understanding with data-led insight to shape account plans, identify new opportunities, and deliver innovative solutions. Our Account Managers work closely with clients to understand their strategic priorities, supporting re-tenders and renewals, while also identifying ways to enhance existing services or introduce new solutions that meet evolving needs.
We are building a Talent Pool to support future hiring across our Account Management teams. By joining early, you will be considered for upcoming opportunities, often before roles are advertised externally.
What we’re looking for
We are looking to connect with Account Managers who bring a strong balance of relationship management, commercial awareness, delivery focus, and demonstrable sales experience. You will typically:
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact
- Support the development and execution of account growth plans informed by client insight and market trends
- Identify opportunities for renewals, re-tenders and new services, working collaboratively with Business Development and Sales teams
- Use data and insight (for example, Salesforce) to manage pipeline, forecast and support decision-making
- Contribute to high levels of client satisfaction and retention, measured through client feedback and renewal rates
- Work cross-functionally to support the development of solutions that meet client needs
- Ensure a high standard of governance, compliance and data quality across all account activity

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
